[Solved] Can't click & drag shapes
[Solved] Can't click & drag shapes
I am trying to put an irregular closed shape over a very small area in an enlarged photograph so that I can fill the small area with a neutral color. I cannot, however, get any of the drag/drop features to drag and drop. The majority of the bottom toolbar doesn't seem to be active. I can only use the live ones on the right side; from the "glue point" to the right end. Have I not activated some part of the toolbar? Neglected to add an appropriate extension? I've looked through the draw tutorials and the threads here (and I'm sure I'm doing something wrong), but I haven't found any solution.

Perhaps you have selected the image, but because it's enlarged (I assume that means you're zoomed in), the selection handles do not appear on the screen. I find that often happens when trying to work with an image in the background.
You can try to clear the selection by typing "Escape" (several times can't hurt), then see if things are working again.

Thank you, acknak. I was on an enlarged screen. As soon as I reduced the image size I was able to see the function work.acknak wrote:Perhaps you have selected the image, but because it's enlarged (I assume that means you're zoomed in), the selection handles do not appear on the screen. You may find it easier to work on top of an image, if you move the image to it's own layer, then lock that layer. That prevents either moving or selecting the background image.
Of course, if you need to move or otherwise adjust the image very much, it get's very tedious locking and unlocking the image layer. So, sometimes you just have to make do with being careful where you click.
