Hi,
I would like to use a spanish version of openoffice with an "azerty" keyboard? How is it possible to define short cuts for the spanish ñ easily?
Thanks for your answer
Fabien

One common way to insert diacriticals (such as the tilde) is by the use of "dead keys". If your keyboard setup has the tilde as a dead key, first press that (you probably won't see any entry in your document, hence "dead..."), then press the N, and you should have the ñ. (note that some third party fonts have a limited character set, so you may get a strange character, or an empty square, instead of the ñ).
I've seen a couple of AZERTY configurations. On one the tilde dead key is on the key just right of the P (you must hold the shift key to get it, IIRC), and on another it's just left of the right shift key (reachable with AltGr).
With some language adapted keyboard setups, accented characters commonly used in the language are present on the keyboard, so you can get them with a single keypress.
Whenever possible, I advise using the OS approach to get the required characters, rather than making a Writer-specific shortcut. Either investigate the possibility of using dead keys on your current keyboard setup, or add an alternate keyboard for the language you're using.
