[Solved] Connection to data source could not be established

Post by martijn »

Hello,

When opening an existing .ODB file, I get the message "connection to the data source could not be established".
I click on the button 'more' and see the errormessage "SQL Status: HY000" and the text "The connection to the external data source could not be established. No SDBC driver was found for the given URL."
There's even more information, it says: "A connection for the following URL was requested: sdbc:embedded:hsqldb", which to me is like Chinese, it sounds delicious, but I cannot make anything of it... :-(

I don't understand it, because I created the file with BASE.

What can I do to solve this problem or save the data already stored in de database?

Please refer to this forum's Survival Guide

What is your operating system :?:
Java version (if any) used in Menu:Tools>Options...OOo>Java :?:
Office version according to Menu:Help>About... :?:

Are you still able to create a new database via File>New>Database... [X]Create new database ?
Can you load other databases like this one: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... php?id=649 ?
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
Ubuntu 18.04 with LibreOffice 6.0, latest OpenOffice and LibreOffice

Tools>Options>OOo>Java and make sure there is a version checked.
Sometimes the profile gets corrupted and the option gets lost. Rather rare however.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE Faye) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.
