Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? OOo 2.4
What Operating System (version) are you using? OSX10.4.11
What is your question or comment? The installation asks me to install X11 software and I have reached the screen that says that I have more up to date software on this machine already. Notes suggest that I should install X11 from the installation disc - but this machine came without the ID.
I have installed OOo v3 successfully but it's a bit slow and won't swap from one program to another without closing the program and reopening so I'd probably be better off with the 2.4 version if I can get it to work.
You're doing a great job and thanks for your help.

Give NeoOffice a try: http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/de/index.php
OOo 3.2.0 on Ubuntu 10.04 • OOo 3.2.1 on Windows 7 64-bit and MS Windows XP
