Converting OpenOffice to Wordperfect

My home computer runs Windows Vista with "OpenOffice 2.0" and my work computer runs Windows XP with "WordPerfect 9". Any file written on my work computer will automatically open in OpenOffice 2.0. If I modify that file and then take it back to work and attempt to open it with WordPerfect 9, it will not read the format. I need to be able to open and modify files with both systems without corrupting the data. Any suggestions?

It seems likely to me that the only solution that will preserve your sanity is for your job to provide you a copy of WP that matches your office system--unless, of course, your documents use only very simple formatting.
Every document file format conversion is imperfect (and most are very imperfect). You will need two conversions on every trip to or from work, because neither WP nor OOo will be using their native file format.
