Updating subform

I'm in the process of constructing a film database, containing the names of films, actor names, etc. I've created all the necessary table for this, and one form showing each movie in turn, plus another one showing each actor in turn.

On the Movie form I have a subform which lists the actors in each film. A similar subform on the Actors form lists the films that actor has appeared in.

I'm wondering though, how to be able to add to either table, using a combo or list box. Is it possible to insert this box directly into the subform, or should it be created on its own, outside the subform ?
