[Solved] Strange Behavior on Numbering default

Post by reader3 »

I would like to set my default template such that every time the number list option is activated, it uses the (1) option, not the 1. option. I can manually set this up and save it as a template in the Applications_Data area, but when I turn off the (1) formatting, and attempt to reactivate by using the mouse on the "set numbering" button, it always comes up to the 1. option. If a user picks Format, it is seen that 1. is always the first choice, so I am assuming that the software will always go to this first choice, when setting numbering.

So how do I move the third choice over to the first choice spot?

If I understand what you're after, it's the same topic we just discussed earlier today, over here: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... =7&t=46730

I thought I had this figured out! I need to jump back levels in a text doc from Level 3 - I picked i,ii,iii... - to Level 2 - my pick a,b,c... - to Level 1 - numbers 1,2,3..,
I thought I could use Shift, Return to jim back levels, but it does not seem to be working. How can I solve this problem? I am going nuts! Getting used to this software; spoiled with ease of spreadsheet conversion from ASCII in MS, but I like it, just can't jump back levels in numbering template! Thanks, Spooky

To change a paragraph's list level, first move the cursor to the beginning of the paragraph (key: "Home").

To increase the level, press Tab

To decrease the level, press Shift+Tab

You can also use the buttons (arrow icons) on the bullets & numbering (pop-up) toolbar.
