Problems merging a multi-page document

Post by wlr »

Write 2.3 on XP. For years I have been addressing a multi-page church newsletter using MS Word 97 with addresses from a csv or Excel sheet. When I attempt to merge that 2 page document in Write using the merge wizard, only the first page that contains the merged fields appears in the output. The second page has vanished. Thanks in advance for any help.

wlr, we missed you post on this (I deleted the earlier duplicate). I feel as bit guilty about this. Perhaps if you attached a sample new letter and cut address list (please cut down to 2-3 entries and replace real names and addresses with "Joe Blow" type entries to remove personal data) then I or one of our gurus would have a quick look. Alternatively if you don't feel comfortable publishing this to a public site then you could email the same to me (same user ID at OpenOffice.org).

But... but... cutting down to 2-3 entries would avoid the OP's problem, which is what happens to the second page of output.... right?
Cheers!

Nope, I think what wlr is talking about is the proforma is two pages so with N addresses they need to print off 2N pages. The fields only get substituted on the odd pages.
