I have just installed OpenOffice Math, and, woud like to draw a few formulae for my math tutor to review. The help file describes the options available for including mathematical symbols and they are also noted within this forum, however I cannot navigate to an option that allows me to select a function graphically.
How do I start drawing mathematical equations please? How do I export them to a word processor / email/ PDF (having a PDF writer installed as a printer)?
I also tried to subscribe to the user forum at sympa <at> openoffice.org, but have not yet received an (automated) acknowledgement.
Getting started?

I hope that you installed the full set - Writer and the other apps as well.I have just installed OpenOffice Math, and, woud like to draw a few formulae for my math tutor to review.
View - Elements will open a box with a set of symbols to include in your formulas. It's not as good as MathType, but you get a long way with it.The help file describes the options available for including mathematical symbols and they are also noted within this forum, however I cannot navigate to an option that allows me to select a function graphically.

If you want to show some formulas to your maths teacher, it's probably easier to insert them in a Writer document, then you can convert the Writer document to PDF. But you can convert the formula to PDF as well - use the PDF button on the toolbar. How do I export them to a word processor / email/ PDF (having a PDF writer installed as a printer)?

Hi and welcome tot he forum!
It should help: [Solved] Can't get the dialog to create equations.
Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
NB: there is no user registered with a sympa* mail address. Are you sure it was not elsewhere? This forum is not part of the main OOo site, it requires a different account (but you can use the same identification if not used yet).
