Using an older version of libreoffice I was able to use a native version of the mysql-connector (it was branded Oracle) from the openoffice repository. It no longer exists or the link has been taken down, and I haven't been able to find a version for libreoffice 3.4
can anyone help me? Thanks everyone.

r4zoli's link is good, but may need a few refreshes to open - I've just checked.

Re: mysql-connector missing
Upon downloading the connector, I tried opening and received the following dialog.
I removed the connector and tried again, and received the same dialog.
loading component library failed:
file:///home/randy/.libreoffice/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu1csxzw.tmp/mysql-connector-ooo-1.0.1-linux-intel(1).oxt/mysqlc.uno.so

Re: mysql-connector missing
Ask on PCLinuxOS forum, maybe they created their own version of LibO3.4. and this cause the problem.
Or they packaged the connector into separate installable package.
Or use OOo 3.3 from OOo site, which is the most stable part if you use Base extensively. No base developers in LibO team, the Base part remains in LibO same as in OOo 3.3, and more and more bugs introduced with every new version of LibO.

Re: mysql-connector missing
Thanks to 'r4zoli' I went ahead and uninstalled libOffice and installed OOo 3.3 from the website. The native-mysql-extension now works, however the database-wizard creates a simple screen form, but only 'read only'
usging the wizrd, I created a 1 to many relationship form. Still read only, but was able to modify the data on the one side, but unable to modify on the 'many' side. ie. I can edit fields in the main file, but not the seconday file.
This is deja-vu, I've been here before. I think with the other connectors. (java, odbc).
Any more help would be graciously accepted.
