[Solved] Dimension Lines

I can't seem to find dimension lines, or even a convenient way to create thin black arrows. All I can find is the Block Arrows
Does Writer have the same dimension features like Draw?

Display the Draw toolbar in Writer, draw a line and then you can access the line properties to make arrows.

If you want dimension lines in Writer, you can have them (or other Draw-specific objects like connectors or callouts). Make a dummy dimension line object (or other object) in Draw, copy it and paste it into Writer.

Objects pasted from Draw will behave similarly in Writer (dimension lines extending correctly and updating measurements, connectors sticking to glue points when connected, etc.), but Writer lacks the tools for creating and adjusting them, so make sure you do the basics (e.g. choose unit and scale for dimension lines) while in Draw.

A better approach in many cases is to insert a Draw OLE object into your Writer document. With that, you have all the Draw tools available once you activate the OLE object.
If you want the precision and control that is required e.g. to measure word length in a text, an OLE object is not so good...

Thanks guys, both good suggestions. I can't believe I didn't try Hagar's suggestion already, that was silly of me.
