How to create web pages?

Geez... wot a carry on to create a login and send a message! Nothing personal but can't you put a Post Message box at the top and make life easier?
OK *sigh* Now I'm finally here - all I want to know is how to create web pages? I have written a number of pages and want to create backgrounds etc etc and nothing happens. I right click and left click and nothing! I add graphics to the page and I save them to the same file with the main file - and they never appear.
I thought I was pretty good creating web sites on Word 2000 and Word 2007 - but I guess not.
Can anyone help me please?

Welcome to the forum.

It has been suggested several times here to not use Writer for web pages, the features needed are not there. It is better to use a program that is designed to do web pages. KompoZer is one that is often suggested.

The Post Message button is the big red one marked 'New Topic', but you obviously found it anyway.

You need to use something designed for the job in hand. Just because OOo can (sort of) edit HTML doesn't make it suitable for creating websites.

As the rabi suggests, check out the free & open source KompoZer.

The best and probably the simple way to create a web page is by using the writer, you can easily save existing document and create new ones. the best way to start is to open an existing document and then view it by selecting online Layout from the View menu or by clicking on its toolbar button.
