Cannot open download OO file on VISTA

I successfully downloaded OO, then tried to open file to install. Windows cannot open the file.

Have you checked th md5sum ? See here : http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/md5sums.html, there is a link at the beginning of the page for instructions.

Is there any error message ?

midsums? Hmmm. Thats all new to me. I'll check the link U provided and retry and get the msg if any. Is this implying I have a bad download or infected code?

That's a possibility. If the exe file cannot be launched, it means that it may have been damaged.

The simplest thing to do is to delete the file you downloaded and try again from http://openoffice.org
