[Solved] Error: Can't read data from manifest.rdf

Hi
yesterday I updated from 3.2.0 into 3.3.0 without any error message. After that, when starting a form, I sometimes got the error message above but the form started and could be used. However, now I get the same message and the message "Can't open form FO_Pagina" and the system has been very slow owing to high CPU-usage of soffice.bin. I have restarted Open Office, the system runs normal but I still get the same messages. (I can start some forms but other forms give the mentioned messages. What can be done?

What extension again please? I ask because I can not find a .rdf in my save as for Writer. Do you perchance mean .rtf?

Hi, I have checked and the extension is really .rdf. (I've tried to paste a copy of the message into my answer but it doesn't work).I forgot to tell that the problem has arised in Base and I have not tested other OO modules.

Hi, now I have unpacked my file and find that there are CRC-errors in forms\Obj*. These files are corrupt.
Meta.xml,
settings.xml,
manifest.rdf,
styles.xml
Should I try to reinstall 3.3.0 or should I try to reinstall 3.2.0?

You should re-download 3.3 and check its MD5Sums to be _certain_ there is no hidden corruption.
MD5Sum details at
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/using_md5sums.html
Then you should delete your User Profile before reistalling 3.3.

manifest.rdf isn't a very important file. You can delete it from an existing file, you can still open the file.
So try to create a new blank document and using an archive manager, try to transfer the content.xml file from the damaged file to the new one. In addition to the content.xml file, try to add also the other non damaged files (but have a first try with content.xml alone first). NB: do that on a copy of the file of course!

.rdf is storage of meta-data in ODF file.
It stores properties, custom properties and user defined field data.
