[Solved] How can I install openoffice on a USB stick?

Is it possible to install openoffice on a usb-stick, so that i have it always with me?
my usb stick is 4GB.
I have tried it to do with the version 2.3.1 dutch, but it does not work at this time.
please can somebody help me?

Good idea, but portable apps usually lack one thing or another to make them so. With all the arguments about OpenOffice not matching MS, that could be a disadvantage. On the other hand, if small is good enough, then there's also the collection of programs available in free "Lupo PenSuite". No OpenOffice, but Abiword [and much more.] It will depend on your personal needs, of course.
P.S. I have a 1Gb, 2Gb, 4Gb, and 8Gb USB + an external 80Gb HD. When will it ever be enough?

I've never noticed a difference between the portable and regular versions. Then again, i only really use writer.

I can't speak specifically for OO software, but positively definitely have seen apps which have admitted to and shown which features are kept and which are not made available. Those apps are still otherwise fully functional, and the features missing usually those seldom if ever used by the large majority of users.
Otherwise ...what does a person think that it is that makes the application so much smaller? For all the use I get out of them, I now have quite a collection of portable apps taking the place of full size applications on my desktop and laptop with no noticeable problems.
