Brochure/Double-Sided Temple

Post by bdrums554 »

I was wondering if there were any trifold brochure templates and/or a template that that you can use to design on one side and the other then print it out and fold it in half. Help me out?

Thanks. That really helps :D but now the problem still remains of finding a double-fold template

Sorry, I guess I don't understand what it is you're looking for.

There are lots of other templates on that site, of course, and more scattered around the web.

Do you mean folding once, so the sheet is doubled? That's solved internally in Writer. Make a normal four page document (or more if required), then use the Brochure print option:
See the options button in the print dialog (or Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Writer - Print for persistent setting). Tick Brochure.

The tri-fold templates in the templates repository (linked above) are for C-fold brochures, it seems. Depending on desired effect, Z-fold brochures may require some rearranging of the frames to get it right. Of the set of 3 templates currently available, the "Tri Fold Brochure" template by John L seems to be the most complete, and the one from LayoutReady seems to be more of a demo than a template (it shows what you can accomplish with some effort, but folding it in three will fold across text, and it is generously pre-filled, so there is a bit of cleanup to do before inserting your own stuff).

Note that rerouting linear text to flow "out of order" is normally done by linked frames. That's also done in those templates. To use the templates, insert your text inside the frame that's labeled as the "first frame". Graphics should also be anchored inside the frame (anchor to frame or to paragraph, depending on context), to make text wrap correctly.

Apache OO 4.1.16 and LibreOffice 25.8, mostly on Ms Windows 10 and 11.
