How can I create a two axis report in OOo Base?

Post by SkeezerD »

I have started a pretty basic database in Base (openoffice) and one of the reports I most definately will need is a 2-axis report. Dates on the horozontal axis, Categories on the vertical axis, and income amounts on the interior, with sums by category and by date, with a grand total for the reporting period.

I can easily do this in Calc by using DataPilot to link to the database table, but the problem there is that the data is not updated automatically.

Is there a way to get this report in say, Calc, then from the data in Base without manually having to refresh?

I forgot to mention in my OP, I do have Oracle Report Builder 1.2.1 installed (from Ubuntu repository).

Reports created by ORB no refreshable, it contain data refreshed in report creation time, or report edit time if you create static report.

Calc supports crosstab reports, pivot tables, data pilots, you name it, from cell ranges or registered databases likewise.
It is a matter of course that you need to refresh data pilots manually as it is necessary to re-run any other database report.
