Installing dictionanaries

Hello I understand that there's a lot of information on this topic but having read it all I haven't been able to resolve it so far.
I have installed Spanish version of OO to my W Vista HP because I badly need Spanish spell and gramar check on my PC. I live in Russia. The program interface is in Spanish, but the language is set to Russian and there's no Spanish and OO doesn't see any spelling mistakes in Spanish.
I have reinstalled the program, I have downloaded Spanish language pack but nothing has changed. I have also downloaded all the dictionaries but I don't know where I can put them to, they are in Downloaded folder and there's no set up file. I guess I'm not a very good PC user, I'm studying at lingustics University, so I don't know what I can do next.
I would be very grateful if anyone could help me.

Installing a langaugepack does not always install a dictionary as well. Apparently there are legal reasons for this. To install a new dictonary you simply go to file->wizards->install dictionary. (the naming might be a bit off, i'm using the Dutch versoin here). This starts a new document with macros that let you automatically download and install the dictionaries that you need.
Good luck.

There are instructions on the website for installing dictionaries and a list of dictionaries in the wiki.

it may be related to the styles also, and make sure you see the "V" checkmarks, see here: [Tutorial] Spell check and Language configuration.
