overwrite recovery

How do I recover the text in a writer document that was accidently overwritten while being saved?

It's helpful to know your version of OOo, and your Operating System.
Assuming you're using Windows XP, if you have the relevant option enabled, and you haven't resaved since, you may be able to retrieve a backup copy from:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\backup
