calc misaligned columns

Post by Pedro Guedes »

In this latest release 2.3.1 the problem persists:

After the first correct load of a calc doc the columns on the next load of a calc doc get misaligned for 400% more width.

To have calc open docs and let the width of the columns stay right I have to open, edit, close one by one.
After the first instance if I do not close the previuos calc doc I get this misaligned behaviour.

I don't fully understand your description but the problem could be caused by a flaw in your user settings folder. Try renaming or moving it after closing all OO processes, including the quick starter. A new folder will be created when you re-launch OO. On Windows, the folder location is

c:\documents and settings\username\Application Data\ OpenOffice.org2
Under Win 98 - C:\Windows\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2
Under Vista: C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice.org2
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.12 on Linux

Thanks 4 your answer.
No it does not change anything.
Let me explain better.

The problem seems related to something locally cached since after the first instance
of an open calc doc the columns get misaligned on any calc doc you open.
If you close all docs and quicklaunch and open one of the misaligned docs the columns
are allright again.
So I need to open the docs one by one and not at the same time.

Also the preview left side on explorer always shows the columns right.

My PCs are WinXP SP2 with IE7.
And it may be related since this behaviour does not happen on PCs Win 2000 SP4 IE6 SP1.

My suspicion is someting with explorer.
