Apparently have corrupt files which are unrecoverable using the OOo recovery process. They show with red Xs. I know at least 2 of these files were corrupt. How do I eliminate them from the window so the next time Vista has to be shut down only viable files appear? I have both Write & Calc files showing as unrecoverable.
In a related vein, I just encountered 2 new files(1 Write, 1 PDF save of the same file) in a Vista search which show in their correct file location with the correct size & save date. When I tried to access them I get a file not found. When I check properties, they show as empty (0 bytes). They do show in the recycle bin, but I've restored the files from the recycle bin, which show as 2 new files and are deletable, but the original files are unaffected. Is there any way to eliminate these files?
Thanks.

Re: unrecoverable files
Are you talking about the recovery process? To stop it, you can delete the file Documents and settings/<user>/Application data/Openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Recovery.xcu. But it's just a workaround in your case.
Beware, it resets the settings for Autosave in the Tools>Options>Load/Save>General dialog.
I don't understand your second question.
