How can I import a Final Cut Pro XML in a spreadsheet?

Good day all,

At work we do a lot of Final Cut Pro work, and then we go to Open Office Calc (or Excell) to create a Playlist, which we then send to relative parties and/or print.

This is quite a long process, as we update the spreadsheet by hand, with every clip name and duration we need to update etc.

Final Cut Pro does have a export to XML feature tho, and it generates a valid XML file with all the necessary details in the file.
So I was wondering, and looking at the OpenOffice XML Filters, is there any way for me to import a XML into Calc, and have it automatically update the Spreadsheet, almost like a Mail Merge, using the exported XML from Final Cut?

Thanks for any advice on how I would go about doing this.

All of that looks quite hectic tho... lol... but I'll work my way through it, and hopefully I'll manage.

I'm wondering tho, I see at the end of the example, that they merely import a XHTML Calc document. So, in theory I can just write a python script to convert the Final Cut Pro XML to a valid XHTML calc doc for import?
