How do I print on
legal size paper???

I've made my document size legal and I've changed the printer settings to be legal, but it still keeps printing 8 1/2 x 11. I'm in
desperation as I need to print several items on legal for a retreat this weekend!!!

Have you read the
Forum Survival Guide?
What OS and OOo version do you have?
How exactly did you set up the page size in Writer? You should use Format > Page > Page, did that work ok?
Does the document view on the screen show as legal-size?
What happens when you print? Is the printer feeding the legal sized paper? If so, is the bottom 3" of the page empty?
If you set the page size to legal under Format > Page, and set the File > Print > printer > properties to legal size paper, and the printer correctly feeds the legal paper, then it should work.

I just read the Forum Survival Guide, did a search which didn't provide much help.
I have OOo 2.3.
Yes, I used Format>Page>Page to legal size.
Yes, the document view shows legal size.
The printer (HP PSC 1210) feeds the legal size paper, but the bottom 3" is empty.
I also set the printer properties to legal size paper, but it still isn't printing on the bottom 3".
Any other ideas or suggestions???
Thanks for your help!

Is your measurement set to "millimeter" by any chance? When you do Format > Page > Page > Format = Legal, what exactly does it say in the Height box?
When you say the bottom of the page is empty, is the text that should be there missing (cut off), or does the text flow over to the next page?
You might double-check the bottom page margin--I can't think of anything else that would leave a big gap at the bottom.
