[Issue] ALT+Cursor Keys loosing functionality...?

Post by hpb »

Hello,
I am german, trieing to write understandable...OO 2.3.1 German

After storing my doc and reopening it, I can no more use alt+cursor keys for pixelwise positioning of my objects.

There are 4 pictures and some frames in a big frame. If I mark 1 object and use alt+cursor keys, it will jump wrong and much too wide. For example: alt+cursor key up lets object go down(!) for estimated 15 pixels... No more pixelwise positioning ist possible.

If I change the ancor point of the objects from paragraph to page (in german Absatz to Seite) it works correct again, if I change back the ancor point it works no more correct.

Any ideas ?
Thank you
Hans

Appendix:
Changing ancor point from paragraph to frame it works fine too.
It seems, only ancor point set to paragraph does make problems.

Does this happen with any paragraph in that document, or just one or a few?

If you open a new document and place dummy text in it (in the English version, I would type dt and press F3) does the same thing happen?

(By the way, you described the problem beautifully. Perfect detail! :D 8-) )
Cheers!

Hallo,
there are 3 columns = 3 Frames (each 99*210mm) on a horizontal Doc 303 * 216 mm (Flyer) with 3mm border around.
The right one frame includes:
at first 1 textframe, later...

4 pictures (fotos) included directly without an extra frame before.
They are positioned like
1111 2222
3333 4444

further down as footer another textframe

These 6 objects I positioned using alt+cursor keys, then saved doc.
All objects were ancored paragraph and all have problems.
New edit of doc causes the problems described.

Changed now all ancor points to frame, it works!!
Changed back to paragraph - problems...

I could send you the problem doc, if it makes sense...

Regards
Hans

Yes, thank you, it usually does help to see the problem document, to test it on other computers to see if we can duplicate the problem. Would you mind posting a sample here? Please scroll down past the message window, below the 'Save', 'Preview' and 'Submit' buttons, and click on the "Upload attachment" tab.
Cheers!

First of all,

why don't you simply use a page template with three columns? Seems to be a lot easier than fiddling with three separate frames.

In German version you type bt followed by F3. The technical notion is 'blindtext'.
