Convert Word templates to OpenOffice.org templates

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to convert Microsoft word templates to open office templates. I have a template with macros in it that use the function keys (f1-f12). but when I try to use the function keys they don't work.

Word macros are not automatically working in Writer as the object model of the two software are quite different. Depending on your macros, their conversions to OOo Basic may take from a few minutes to a few hours each.
