I live in Germany, but just recently installed Vista completely in English, set all the regional and language options to U.S. English, and then installed OO.org and changed the languages setting completely to U.S. English. When I run spellcheck (or spellcheck as I type) it automatically uses the German dictionary. I can change it to English, but only for one word - when it checks the next word it switches back to German. When I change it to English and then close spellcheck, it switches back to German.
The entire document I'm using is English - so every word is underlined as misspelled.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the problem lies entirely with Vista (I swear they deliberately designed it to have conflicts with all major open-source software). Anybody know how to get around this? Change the dictionaries maybe?
Thanks for your help.
-> just needed to change the language settings in Styles and Formating (under Format, or F11) -> font tab . . .
