Ever since I set Open Office to be my default program for certain Microsoft program data files (doc, xls and so on) the icons for some of those data files, particularly .ods and .xls files appear as the generic Windows icon (see attached screencap.)
I know this is a small thing and I'm being a bit anal about it, but it's irritating and I'd like to fix it if I could. I suspect duplicity on Microsoft's part, but am less interested in assigning blame than I am getting the icons right, which is to say proper Open Office icons, as they should be.
Any suggestions? Or is this, perhaps, a point too small for consideration?

Re: Open Office Icons Snafu
If you have TweakUI, try repairing the icon cache and see?
Re: Open Office Icons Snafu
You can try to reset the icons manually.
So, open Control Panel -> Folder Options then select File Types tab and click on the list of Registered file types and type the first 2-3 letters of an extension with a lost icon (for a fast selection).
Then hit Advanced button to open a dialog box from where you can set a lot of things: the icon, the application which will open that kind of file, the command line (**argv btw), etc.
The bad thing is that you must do this for every file with an "icon snafu".
PS. The common path to the icon library is "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.3\program\soffice.exe".
PS. PS. Pardon my english
