[Solved] Looking for something as easy as 'Word'
Evening, heard things about this program and thought I'd try it. Supposed to be as easy as 'Word' to use. I can't even figure out how to get into the processor. Been trying for over an hour and still haven't figured it out. I don't know too much about computer stuff, but wow...how do I get to the processor? Thanks for your help...!

Wow, that's a tough way to start. I'm sure we can get it straightened out.
What have you done so far? What do you see on the screen?

What operating system are you using? What version of Open Office do you have installed?
I'll make some assumptions such as you are using Windows and the latest version of OOo... If you are looking for the word processor it is called "Writer". If you go Start > All Programs > OpenOffice.org 2.3 > OpenOffice.org Writer

If you are going to use OpenOffice primarily for the word processor Writer, I would right click the Writer icon in the Start menu and add a desktop shortcut. Now you can access the program from your desktop. You can drag that to the "quick launch" toolbar if you use it and start the program from there.
Hopefully, that is enough to get you started.

Thanks, maybe I was too tired last evening. It seemed everywhere I went it took me to instructions or the sign ups for this and that. Got in and it reads and edits my 'word' files. Thanks

Thanks......
