I have just tested my computer for its ability to handle the upgrade to windows7. In the process I was messaged that OpenOffice 3.1 is not compatible with the new release.

What is the expected time/date when it will be compatable and available for download?

We have had reports here that OOo 3.1.1 runs on W7 just fine, despite what the Windows compatibility check reports. However, it is not 'officially' supported yet. Not sure when it will be officially supported, we're not the developers, just users who try to help other users.

Thats answered my question too :D

I'll try to remember and report back, once I've installed Windows 7.
Thats going to be next weekend.
I've decided to upgrade my HDD from a 120Gb IDE drive, to a 500Gb SATA drive and install Win 7 onto that, then use my old drive as a back-up drive. I left it a bit late to order the new drive, so in the mean time I'm covering everything I can think of to make the install go 'right first time' . Back-ups, compatibility issues etc. :ugeek:
I know there'll be something I'll miss, but ya gotta try

How does OpenOffice 3.1.1 run under 64 bit? My plan is to upgrade from Vista Home Premium 32 bit to Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. Should I expect this to fly or crash/burn?

It should fly. Several topics about 64bit compatibility, don't remember any critical issue.

Great, thanks. If I run into any issues I'll post them.
