Re: Stop unwanted scrolling
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "automatic scrolling". Can you give a little more detail about what you're doing and what you see on the screen?

Re: Stop unwanted scrolling
On the right side of all Windows explorer screens is a blue/white scroll bar with an up and down arrows. Only on my OO screen, when I click one of these arrows for more than a split srccond, the scrolling goes slowly to to top or bottom of the document and can't be stopped.
Re: Stop unwanted scrolling
Firstly, 2.3.0. had a reputation for being buggy, and a lot of fixes were in 2.3.1 - it is worth getting.
Secondly, I think I've seen the behaviour you describe in some word processor (I forget which) in the past, but only with very large documents. Is that when it happens for you? Or does it happen even with small, 2 or 3 page, documents? Does your computer have plenty of free hard drive space, and how much memory?

Re: Stop unwanted scrolling
Small documents too.
2 gig memory and 80 gig free space.
Something I didn't mention:
On the bottom of the scroll bar on OO there are 3 extra buttons, previous page, navigator and next page.

Re: Stop unwanted scrolling
Sounds like a broken install to me: if that were a bug in OOo, I think someone would have noticed it before now.
Still, I agree with huw: start with an upgrade to 2.3.1 if you can.
