[Solved] Cannot install Open Office 2.

Post by beemerbob »

The install stops when Java tries to install. Filename: jre-6u3-windows-i586-p-s.

Tried all the fixes on the Java website and it still won't go.

Doesn't sound like a Windows .exe file. Is it the full name?

Any error message?
Your system certainly already has Java installed. Try to use the OOo installer without java.

If you downloaded OOo with java, download OOo without JRE, unclick it before proceeds, and download java JRE from java.com and install separately from OOo.

You don't need to download OOo without Java to install without Java. Just select Custom Installation and deselect Java from the optional components.
