Hi all,
New to this program. I have looked everywhere I could think of for FAQs and manual help on this. It must be out there but I can't find it. I want to keep the text formatting toolbar on-screen whenever I start Calc. I use it a lot on daily transaction sheets I send to the front office. I have tried adding the toolbar and saving the document, adding the toolbar and using the customize /save in command set as well as a couple other sets of commands I really didn't think would work, but nothing makes the darn thing stick. Anybody know how to add to which toolbars come up as default?
Thanks

Re: Adding to default toolbars
Interesting, I tried inserting the Text Formatting toolbar and saving as my Default Template but it didn't work.
Re: Adding to default toolbars
It comes up automatically in my 3.0.1 version. Just saving a new template gives me one without a formatting bar. Could this be a another 3.1.0 issue?vwandell wrote:Hi all,

On the other hand, why use the formatting bar at all? It can take a bit more work originally but you are likely to be better off with a set of dedicated Styles.

Re: Adding to default toolbars
Hi all,
just to keep the info moving. What i really need is bold and I have discovered that control B works just like that other program. I guess I have to go read up on bugs in the current version because I was pretty sure that the last version I had worked just like I expected it to when changing toolbars.
Thanks for the help

Re: Adding to default toolbars
Has this issue ever been resolved?
Tools .. Customize .. Toolbar
I make the necessary customization, then select "Save In". Value of the name of my .odt file.
The changes are _not_ saved in the file. I did not find any information about toolbar configuration when unzip'ing the .odt file and look through the contents.
I of course also tried removing $HOME/.config and re-opening my .odt file with customized toolbar, but the changes ar enot saved.

Re: Adding to default toolbars
This function works for me in my AOO4.1.1 and LO4.3.5.2
Use a newly created, custom toolbar instead the modifiing an existing, built in toolbar.
You can save it into a document file.
I do not know it how, and where will displayed when you open it, but my attached example file contains a new toolbar named "newtoolbar1" with two icons of built in functions: "Mediaplayer" and "Stop macro".
