OOO 2.3.0 and tables make a crash

Post by Tonus »

Hello,
I was using writer from 2.3.0 version, on a slackware-12.0, with package compiled with the help of slackbuilds.net.
After a few modifications of a table (splitting it in two, merging a few cells, filling content) and pasting a second from an other odt file, I tried adding a new one at the head of the document.
This made writer mad after the crash : it tries to backup the faulty file then crashes without letting me report the bug as planed. I had to cancel the automated backup.
I managed to restore my file by turning it into zip file and deleting everything I found in the content.xml refeering to the third table.
But it still seems to crash at every change in this file. (after a while with any changes ? I must test a bit more to check that )
Is there a fix of some related bug in 000-2.3.1 ?
How can I report this ?
Is it a known bug ?
Thanks for any reply.
And please forgive my bad english

I have run into some problems with tables in 2.3--no crashes however. I would suggest you try the current developer build for 2.3.1 and see if it works better. If not, then you can try and find a very specific set of steps to produce the crash and then report it.
