[Solved] Folder hierarchy

Hi everyone,

recently bought a mac and absolutely love it but to be honest, I'm having quite a hard time adjusting to how different it is to a PC. I'm running open office and I have to download each time I turn the computer on. Should I have to? If yes it doesn't really bother me but just wondered. The main reason I'm here is because I need to do an ICT task where I do a folder hierarchy, and its made me realise that I have just been saving everything to my desktop and don't have a "my documents" as I did on my pc. How do I get to my documents, and how do I do a folder hierarchy once I get there? Also simple things like putting page numbers on a document becomes really difficult. Would any of you guys be able to help me with these problems? I'd be extremely grateful. I know this is probably really easy to you lot, but it would help me a lot.

To answer your initial question, no you do nont need to download OOo every time, that would be ridiculous. No idea how to solve your problem though, i've never worked on a Mac. The only other OOo question you seem to have is how to put in page numbering. There's a nice tutorial for that here.

You'll make everyone's task easier by asking one question per thread.

What makes you think you have to download each time? Have a look on the MacOS board.

I've made a big mistake, I've deleted the other thread instead of this one . Fortunately, I've still the posts in my browser so here is the main one:

You make a folder hierarchy by inserting a folder in an existing folder, navigating to the new folder and inserting a folder in that, for as long as you want. The only thing to find out is how to add a folder to an existing folder. You may find that information in the Help function that comes with the Mac. It must be something very simple.
