I'm sorry for my english, but i'm italian and i speak english like a baby
I have a problem to instal the new version "open office 2.3.0" on my pc (i use windows xp license without key-product)
I use open office since gen 07, but i have a problem with new version and now i can't use open office for nothing. I have tried to use the old version, but the situation is not changed
I try to re-install the application, but i always see the same problems, when accept the license and select open office to open word, exl, pwr point, i see the follow pop up :

My hard disk is maxtor s tm3320820as scsi disk device

Can you help me? Please tell me the instruction as if you write to baby

May be your downloaded file broken, but I'm not sure. Try to download again, now 2.3.1 newest version.
Always better uninstall earlier version first and install new version.

Download the latest version 2.3.1 for your operating system from the Italian site http://it.openoffice.org/download/2.3.1 ... ad231.html
Notice the sequence "md5sum" below each link. The sequence is for testing a complete download. You need some program to run this test. Under Linux you type "md5sum downloaded_file" in a console. If the result is the same sequence, then your file is OK. I don't know about Microsoft Windows. Probably you need a special tool.

Stop OpenOffice.org completely(!). Possibly there is a OOo quick starter running even though you closed all OOo-windows. Microsoft Windows: see bottom right corner of your screen if there is an office running and stop it.

Remove the old OpenOffice.org

Stop virus scanner.

Install.

i try to follow your suggestions, but my problems continue. Thanks anyway I try to look in some guide on web. I hope to have a "good look"

Try to disable any firewall and antivirus before installing.
