Unable to share OOo with other account users

Post by Dap »

I am a brand newbie, using OOo for the first time. Other family members with separate accounts cannot access OOo and I have tried changing or resetting as many account & sharing options as I can find. I am using Vista. I must be missing something fairly obvious. Thank you.

It may be a problem related to the rights they've been granted. Under Windows, you often need to be full admin to run applications properly.

I'm getting the same problem in XP. The program works fine under my profile. It doesn't under my wifes profile but it had worked up until recently(last 3 weeks). (System restore didn't work).

I was successful, however, by "running the program as" my user with admin rights on my wifes profile. We both have admin rights. All accounts except mine get an empty dialog box with an ok button when attempting to run any OOo app... Any ideas?

I'm not home at the moment where my new Vista machine resides, but I recall reading that some things about security settings have changed, and other Vista users are having the same problem you're having. Someone in this forum (if I recall correctly) was able to fix the security settings. I'll see if I can find that post... but it will have to wait until I get home.
Cheers!

That one perhaps (but for XP): OpenOffice will only start for one user?
