Hello,

I have an 81 page document I wrote in Word. It has custom styles, colors, and a host of tables (no OLE or or bitmaps). I converted it to .odt format and it looks pretty darned good. The only problem is that it has those light grey text boundary borders. I tried turning them on and off to see if that made them go away, and something interesting happened. They turned off from page 1-15, but stayed on after that and until the end of the document. Even more interesting, They get pushed down the page with carriage returns as if they were a table, but they can't be select as a table (nor do I get the table toolbox when I click inside them). Additionally, they are not there when I do a print preview.



I'm stumped. Is this an error in the application? Does anyone know how I can make them go away?

They're sections limits. To check it, put your cursor inside and see what says the status bar (bottom right of the windows). You can also access them with the Navigator (F5), Section tree.

Note that in the Tools>Options panel, you can also deactivate the sections boundaries.

A .doc import in OOo often results in many sections depending on the layout.

I just noticed the correlating "section" marks in my original document (when I changed view types). I don't know how they got there, but you were spot on!
