Data from 1 sheet copies to 2nd sheet in same workbook
Data from 1 sheet copies to 2nd sheet in same workbook
I'm using Mac Leopard and just downloaded Open Office 3.0.0. In making new spreadsheets for my retirement funds, I find that data and formats copy from 1 sheet to another. It did not do this in Open Office 3.0. Example: I changed the font color on column P on one sheet and it also changed the color on column P on the second sheet. The same thing happens with data. Both sheets are in the same workbook and I have a couple of formulas copying data from one sheet to the other. Any ideas as to why this happened in version 3.0.0 but not in previous versions?

Re: Data from 1 sheet copies to 2nd sheet in same workbook
This is not the standard behavior as OOo Calc should only apply formatting to the selected cells. This may mean that you have several sheets selected, something that is not so obvious to detect as the grey background and white background of selected/unselected sheet tabs are visually very close. To select one sheet when all are selected (all have a white background in the tab), press the Ctrl key and then click on a different sheet tab than the current sheet (then the background of that clicked sheet changes to grey), then release the Ctrl key and click again on that tab (all other background tabs change to grey and the clicked one changed to white).

Thanks! That apparently solved my problem. I would not have thought to try that.

Thanks for ticking the green mark, but it is better to do it in your first post (use the edit button) and please add [Solved] in the Subject line as well. This is valuable information when people use the search feature of the forum.
