converting a Table to a Database

Post by Bea Vinen »

I had to type up some names for a mailing. Since the person printing the labels has Microsoft Word, she asked me to save my lists on a Table. I did so and saved it in Word....now I have all these Word Tables. She has decided she doesn't want to help us out any longer and so I'm stuck with printing labels. I will convert the Word Table to an OOTable. Is there any way to convert OOTables to OO Databases? OR is there a way to print an OO Table onto a Mailing Label? Or will I have to retype all my lists as Databases? I'm fairly new to OO and I'm still learning. Thanks for any help.

One way to do it would be to select the Writer table, copy and paste into a Calc sheet, then File> Save As a dBASE file. There might be an easier way, but I don't use mailing labels or Base much, so this is the first thing that popped into my head.
Cheers!
