I want to import one of my websites into Writer/Web in order to edit it. How would I go about doing this?

That depends. The safest approach - according to me - is to save the files on your harddisk. You can get them with ftp, I suppose. If your files have scripts in them, be very careful that Writer doesn't mess them up. Lots of people report trouble with copy-paste from web pages, so I certainly wouldn't do it that way. Don't forget to test the edited pages in a real browser before you upload them to the server.

I don't recommend using Writer for editing your HTML files. Like other word processors that try to be everything to everyone, it adds all kinds of unnecessary bloat to the files. Use a tool designed for the job. I like the portable version of Nvu, KompoZer, available here:

It's half WYSIWYG editor, which most people use, and half HTML editor, which can give you more control over the page content if you want, but you don't have to use it to create or edit your files; you can get by just fine with the WYSIWYG editor.
