My left pane will show with bookmarks (Chapters and Subheadings) hyperlinked but none are in the TOC page. What am I doing wrong?
I am using Win XP

What do you mean by "show", exactly? If you move your mouse pointer over the TOC in the PDF, does it change to a link pointer? ... that is, are you looking for blue underlined text, or do you mean the links truly don't exist? (If the links are in fact there, it could be a matter of the character style selected in the Insert Index/Table dialog. It defaults to something like "Internet link"---just relying on memory at the moment, so that might not be exactly it---but if a different character style were selected, that might explain the absence of blue underlined link text.)Judith Tramayne wrote:I can get the hyperlink to show in the TOC and CTRL click for the hyperlink to work in Writer but when I make a PDF, it doesn't show.
Ah, there it is. The Hyperlink tag comes in pairs, one to mark the beginning of what you want to hyperlink (LS for Link Start), and one to mark the end (LE for Link End). This allows you to control exactly what you want to hyperlink: just the page number, for example, or just the title, or the entire line. So, after you click in front of E# and click Hyperlink to create the LS marker, click the black right arrow if necessary to find the end of the structure, which is most likely a # for the page number, click after the # and click the Hyperlink button again to create the LE marker.Judith Tramayne wrote:Level 1 put in cursor in front of E#, click hyperlink, go to front of E, click hyperlink, click OK.
