I'm getting involved with OOo2.3.1,and i like it very much.
But to my opinion,it will be fine if there can be a Chinese language version.
And i am willing to do some translation if you superiors need me to

2.3.1 doesn't seem to be available in Chinese. You should check that page : Native Language Confederation Projects of OpenOffice.org. There is a link to a Chinese project, you should subscribe and propose your help.

This forum is just for users, see the Survival Guide for the forum.

2.3.1rc1 looks to be available at:

http://zh.openoffice.org/new/zh_cn/downloads.html
http://zh.openoffice.org/new/zh_tw/downloads.html

so maybe the translation work is (mostly) already done.

Also keep an eye on what RedFlag are doing with the Chinese version of OpenOffice.org.

They are redesigning the UI to make it more usable for Chinese native speakers/writers instead of simply translating the menu items.
