[Solved] New Database (Java problem)

OpenOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task, Please
install a JRE and restart OpenOffice

above appears BEFORE AND AFTER installing Java version 8 Update 503 (build 1.8.0_503-b01)

A known problem. You have to install the 32 bits version of Java, because AOO for Windows is still 32 bits.

OFFLINE --- WINDOWS 32 --- jre-8u503-windows-i586
OFFLINE --- WINDOWS 64 --- jre-8u503-windows-x64
installed both and still have the original issue

I downloaded and installed it and it's properly recognized. Are you sure that you did everything correctly, didn't install it on a medium where AOO can't find it or anything else?
If nothing helps, consider moving to LibreOffice.

Did you install the 32-bit version in Program Files (x86) instead of Program Files ?

Check in Tools > Options that JRE is enabled:

NB : prefer Adoptium JRE than Oracle

looks like it has found jdk-7u80-windows-i586
