[Dropped] Set Draw as default to open .pub files

Hello,
How do I go about setting OpenOffice Draw as the default app to open all my .pub files?? OpenOffice Drawing is the closest thing I have seen that does what I need it to as Publisher is soon going away. I have hundreds of .pub files on my pc and want to set Drawing as the app to open them automatically when I click on the file.
I had downloaded Libre Office, another program like OpenOffice with apps for spreadsheets, presentations, word docs etc. and set it as the default app to open my publisher files by going to set default apps, clicked on Libre Office which allowed me to choose Draw, and I set it as the default to open all my .pub files, and it would open them, but they weren't right. They didn't fit the page the way they were created and it was a pain to manipulate the info to get it corrected. Not to mention trying to find components of the program wasn't easy. I guess you would say not so user friendly. So I changed it back to Publisher as the default app and deleted Libre Office.
In OpenOffice Drawing, they open right up correctly and it is great! But.....all the different apps within OpenOffice are all integrated and you can't chose one to be a default app for anything. I have tried over and over thinking maybe I did something wrong but I didn't. OpenOffice Drawing does not show as an individual app I can choose to set as a default for anything. Not to mention all the Publisher users that would flock to OpenOffice Drawing because it's look and feel and functionablity is so close to Publisher!
Where this is open software, can someone fix this so that it will come up in settings with Windows 11 so that I can set it as the default to open all my Publisher files? The only other alternative I have is to locate each and every publisher file, open each one individually and save as a draw file. It would take me years to accomplish that.
