[Solved] Rows hidden; data still exists in them

My spreadsheet is currently in use with historical data from last years bank statements. it is my bank reconciliation sheet in question.

I have many random rows missing since (idk when - saves have happened on previous versions) and yet the hundreds of sporadic missing rows are missing -visually- whilst the data (figures contained within the columns) are included when I use the SUM function for each columns total figures = High total.

I know this because when I cut and paste the whole document to a new sheet. The row numbers run in sequence (with no missing rows) and the SUM function = low total.

Question:
How do I recall the missing rows using OpenOffice or Mac apps? I'm presuming I need to recall a historic version before the filter issue that caused this and me saving over the previous 'ALL' Autofilter view.

Context:
BTW: I have had many autofilter issues on this document across several sheets. The autofilters' randomly show up in different rows other than the header row for random columns too. It's a weird and frustrating issue I've yet to solve also; other than copy and paste all data not filtered and then re-write the affected rows in a new sheet. It's loooong and tedious but has been a work around so far... your thoughts are welcome here also. Thanks!

FYI: the document isn't saved to my Mac OS X Catalina MacBook (late 2012) but to an external SSD. Therefore, Time machine isn't available. Hmmm. what to do???

Try this:

Click on the blank square at top left where row column numbers and labels intersect. This should select the entire sheet. Then /Format /Row /Show.

Ditto but this time /Format /Column /Show

I have had many autofilter issues on this document across several sheets.

Read [Solved] AutoFilter dropdowns back after they are removed which discusses Autofilter problems. An important message there is: Never use Autofilter without first creating a definition in Data → Define Range for the range that you're going to filter. When you define the range, you can click on the Autofilter heading row and use Data → Filter → Remove Filter to restore the display of your hidden rows. If you did use Autofilter without first defining ranges, unhide all the rows, remove any Autofilters, define ranges, and reapply Autofilters. Personally, I have moved away from Autofilter and find Data → Filter → Standard Filter to be more useful and less troublesome. I use Data → Define Range before applying any type of filter.

If you need any additional assistance attach a spreadsheet demonstrating the difficulty (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the spreadsheet itself). I will not help further unless you attach a spreadsheet document. You don't need to attach your actual spreadsheet, just a copy of some of the rows from one sheet, as long as what you attach still demonstrates the problem. If you're concerned that this is personal data, just fake some of the descriptions or numbers. Or leave them but tell us that you faked them. How would we know the difference?

This is an OpenOffice forum. If you're looking for assistance with managing backups of data for your Mac you are more likely to find ideas in an Apple forum. I do not have suggestions for an Apple forum you can use. However, the quick answer for What to do? is, as RoryOF said, just unhide the rows in your sheet. If you alllow Calc to display row numbers on the left side of your sheets, it should be obvious that some of your rows are hidden.
