[Solved] Reinstall OpenOffice after deletion by CC Cleaner

Post by Frank Gibbons »

SOLVED...Thank you so much.

In 2022 I purchased Apache Openoffice Premium 4.1.13. and you sent me a CD. It's code is X00117R19F. It updated to 4.1.15 later and have used it ever since on my home PC. Yesterday I ran a programme called CC cleaner and it has deleted someting on my openoffice programme. I keep getting the following messages. I've tried re-installing but it asks for a username and password that I've lost.

The messages read as follows

"The feature that youare trying to use is on a network that is unavailable" and "Enter an alternate path to a foldercontaining the installation package 'Openoffice4115' in the box below.

When I upgraded to the 4.1.15 version I downloaded the full folder and so I tried to re-install it from there without success. It gives the following message "The path 'C:/users/frank/appdata/local/temp/openoffice4115.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'openoffice4115.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product 4.1.15"

I opened the folder and found the .msi file but it would not open and displayed the message as the first one above.

Can you help please. I'm not too savvy on computers.

Welcome to the forum. You may have bought a CD with Apache OpenOffice because you don't have a good internet connection, but it's a free download from the link at the right-hand bottom of this forum page.
Move the .msi file from the temp folder to your Downloads folder. Run it from there (double-click on it). It should then start installing. Better still: download the latest version 4.1.16. It's free. Save it to the Downloads folder and run it. If that doesn't help, please get back to us and tell us exactly what goes wrong. Good luck!

Hi, thank you. I've tried to download the new version but it will not uninstall the previous one and freezes, I would appreciate any more help? When I try to uninstall it using windows it gives me the message "The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

In that case, you should probably use Revo Uninstaller (https://www.revouninstaller.com/) at its most aggressive. It should remove all references to OpenOffice from the registry, especially the ones to an unavailable network resource (your CD?).
