[Solved] Icon for Styles and Formatting deleted

Post by wild11will »

OpenOffice 4.1.15 windows 11 on a new HP
I clicked on the Styles & Formatting icon and had a 1"box appear with arrows above my word document.
I saw that pressing 'F11' turns this on and off, but F11 doesn't work.
My OLD StarOffice 6.0 manual shows only F11 turning it on and off.
I also managed to remove the icon at the beginning of the second line.
I removed the StarOffice APP in SETTINGS, icon on the desktop and on the pin on the bottom of the page.
I Down loaded a new 4.1.15 and nothing changed - rows of arrows and NO F11 to turn it off.

Any ideas?
Thanks
PS I think I've used OpenOffice for 20 years - my first copy came from SUN

Reason: Tagged ✓ [Solved]; The "page of arrows" is turned on/off using Tools → Gallery, not by pressing F11

Go to Tools | Gallery to toggle the display of the gallery.

I hate this damn computer, I wish that I could sell it.
It won't do what I want it to, Only what I tell it.

See if toolbar Format is selected under View > Toolbars

You could also check Tools > Modify > tab Keyboard and check in the list Shortcuts if for F11 the action Format and Styles is selected
