I'n looking for a "text box" inside a Writer document which could hold text i wanted to "compartmentalize" I found frames which seemed to work until the content exceeded a page. In this situation, if the content can be accessed at all (by moving the cursor into the invisible area) there doesn't appear to be a way to view it. I tried clicking on the red arrow but nothing happened. Is there a solution to this limitation?
Although linking frames has technically solved this problem in one case it is "brittle" - adjusting text above the first frame (adding, etc) breaks the positioning.

Text Sections are to compartmentalize - with features like hiding and showing them and setting a background color - in case you haven't discovered these.

The up and down arrow keys on the keyboard when at the top or bottom of the frame change what part of the text in the frame is displayed when its overfull. The little red arrows at the start and end look just to be visual indicators that there's more text beyond what is currently displayed.

JeJe: I've used sections but not for that purpose, I'll have to look into their capabilities more in depth. Thanks for pointing that out. However, with frames the cursor only moves off screen when i scroll - it doesn't adjust the view (I'm on OpenOffice 4.1.13, if this behavior has changed i need to upgrade).
