[Solved] Transfer color palette from OO to LO

Since I had to replace my laptop computer (went from Windows 10 to Windows 11), I had to re-install OpenOffice, which I downloaded a fresh copy of in order to do that. I won't go into all the details, but it seems to be failing all over the place (crashes, etc.) so much that I am convinced to switch to LibreOffice as suggested in many posts herein.

The reason this is scary to me is that I have been keeping some essential data in some Writer and Calc documents, and I don't think I could live very well without it. So, I'm trying to avoid that problem by switching. I've read the particulars about how to do that, all seeming to say it won't be a traumatic shift in the way I was doing things. I'm going to take you at your word on that.

My main concern is transferring my color palette with the custom colors I have created from OO to LO. As you've told me before, it's a matter of saving the standard.soc file to a safe place before deleting OO and then just pasting it in the similar location under LibreOffice's installed folders and files. When I look in this directory:

C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user\config

there are these files with the .soc extension:
scribus.soc
standard.soc
web.soc
cmyk.soc
gallery.soc
html.soc
palette_en-US.soc

There are "standard" files with other extensions: sod, soe, sog, etc. The cmyk looks questionable because I know that concerns color definition. Likewise, the palette_en-US has "palette" in the name, which makes me wonder if it would be involved in the transfer of the color palette.

I just want to avoid screwing this up. I feel like that is inevitable considering my luck and lack of knowledge on this matter.

Any help would be intensely appreciated.

Ah, indeed the color palette is part of the changes that differ from AOO to LO.
I had to redo my custom palette because they changed the layout. See: [Solved] Smooth colors in OpenOffice.

It's a mere question of reordering the entries in the .soc files you use.

Are you saying that a person can open these .soc files (to reorder something in them)? I wouldn't even know where to begin to do that.

They are plain text files - you can open them with a text editor such as Notepad.

Oh, wow! I opened it and copied and pasted the text relevant to my custom colors into my document I keep for that purpose. There's not that much to it, is there?

P.S. Does anyone know why the forum screams at me in bold red letters that I'm posting too often everytime I post? I don't think I'm doing that. Maybe you need some sort of special status to post more often. Oh, yeah... and it says I didn't use enough letters or words or something.
