[Dropped] Document opens then closes very quickly

I have a large Open Office text document that I have been updating throughout the last couple of years. I saved the latest version last week after updating. Today when I click on it to open, it opens then very quickly closes. How do I retrieve my document? I will be heartbroken if it's lost. I use Windows 11. Thank You!

"the last couple of years"... and no backups?

For shame!

Whatever you do by way of recovery, do not overwrite the "damaged" file. Work on a copy of it, made at operating system (Windows 11) level.

Then see if the .odt copy fie will open with an archive utility, If it does, report back to this thread.
